The Charlotte Quilt in Nocturne
A couple of months ago, I posted a little sneak peek of a quilt that I made for my new nephew but I didn't want to give you the full view of the quilt until the pattern was ready. Here is a baby size Charlotte Quilt.
Now don't worry — I do have another lap size sample to share with you next week, it just isn't quite done yet.
The quilt is made with Nocturne from Fableism. You might remember that I already made a quilt with this collection (click here to see it) and this little baby quilt was perfect for the leftovers and scraps.
This new nephew belongs to my younger sister and he is actually my first niece or nephew on my side of the family! My sister is a decade younger than me so I wanted to make sure that the quilt would work for her slightly-younger-and-more-modern tastes.
The quilt was a huge hit at the baby shower — everyone loved the colors and the simplicity of the solids. It fit right in with all of the young people gifts 😂
The background fabric is another Fableism print - it's Everyday Chambray in Zephyr. While you could definitely use a regular quilting cotton with the Fableism fabrics, I wanted to keep the quilt really lightweight.
For the quilting I did a dense grid. Normally i don't like to quilt this densely on projects, but the Nocturne fabrics were so drapey that it gave the quilt a really nice texture without making it stiff.
The backing fabric is a voile print that I have had in my stash for ages — it's a Katarina Roccella print and it went perfectly with the Nocturne prints. This pattern is going to be my new go-to for baby quilts and I will definitely be working with these beautiful fabrics again.
Nocturne by Fableism is available now and the Charlotte Quilt Pattern is in my shop!

Love this quilt. Bought the pattern last night. I love the crosshatch quilting on it. How did you do that for the whole quilt? I can only seem to find crosshatch in blocks and not edge to edge.
