The Judy Quilt in Kinder
A while back - a year ago? two? I can't keep track of time anymore - I picked up Kinder by Heather Ross specifically to make a quilt for my son's kindergarten teacher. He wasn't in kindergarten at the time, but I know that it was too perfect to pass up.
So for the past year? two years? I have been on the lookout for the perfect pattern for the collection and finally, I found it. Once I designed The Judy Quilt Pattern, I knew that I had found the winner.
The pattern gave me the ability to do some fussy cutting and to show off the other fabrics. It is a unique pattern and handles the colors of the collection without being too crazy. I am so pleased.
This worked out very well because now my youngest son is actually in kindergarten - I couldn't have foreseen that he would be doing kindergarten over Zoom, but he has a wonderful kindergarten teacher and hopefully he will get to actually see her in person before the end of the school year so that we can give her this quilt.
I am a HUGE Heather Ross fan - her fabrics have such great whimsy, use wonderful colors, and have the best details. I rarely buy full fabric collections, but I have bought many of Heather's and never regret it. They always make fantastic quilts to gift to someone.
Don't worry, I still have ANOTHER version of this pattern to show you, I really got on a roll with this pattern! It works well with a lot of fabrics because it is both quick to make and fat quarter friendly - two of my favorite things.
