The Jonah Quilt Pattern in LIBERTY!

The Jonah Quilt Pattern in LIBERTY!

I cannot believe I forgot to blog about this quilt! Last year when I was working on the Jonah Quilt Pattern, I was wanting to make the sample quilt that went along with my son's color preferences since the pattern was named after him. But then I thought — I should also make a sample that is the exact opposite of his preferences so I put together this little baby size quilt using Liberty.

This bundle of fabric is from Alice Caroline and it is so sweet. I would have never guess that as a black/dark gray-loving teenager, I would end up loving pink and purple floral prints.

Since this pattern is fat quarter friendly and I had 6 fat quarters, I had just the right amount to make a baby quilt. I supplemented with some solids from my stash for the thinner strips.

(Here is a little behind the scenes of my photo for this quilt — it was pouring rain so I had to take photos while my daughter was practicing her viola!)

I didn't have a Liberty print for the backing fabric but I did have some Anna Maria Horner voile that coordinated nicely. The finished quilt is so lightweight and sweet — too bad all of my friends and family members have been having boys lately.

The Jonah Quilt is a great baby quilt project because it is super fast to put together. You can find the pattern in my shop!
