The Dylan Quilt in Picnic Wovens

The Dylan Quilt in Picnic Wovens

For this cover of the Dylan Quilt Pattern, I got to use Picnic Wovens by Suzy Quilts. All of Suzy's collections have really unique fabric combinations and I have enjoyed working with them, so I was extra excited to try this collection of wovens.

Picnic Wovens has a fun combination of solid-like linen fabrics, plaids, and prints and I really love how they let the design of the Dylan Quilt Pattern stand out.

To make this quilt, I used:

A FQ Bundle of Picnic Wovens
Accent Fabric: Pure Solids in Cyrstalline
Background Fabric: White Linen from AGF's new linen solids
Binding: Speckled in Licorice
Backing: Large Plaid in Rainbow

Since the Dylan Quilt has lots of movement, I wanted fabrics that would add texture without making the design feel too busy. Picnic Wovens were perfect for that.

Heidi of Piece and Joy Quilting did the longarm quilting and I'm glad she finally convinced me to try this panto. It is called Boho Birds by Suzy Quilts. Heidi has suggested it for past projects and I have always gone with another option because I just didn't love how much blank space there is between some of the shapes. But then I actually loved it on the quilt so what do I know.

If you would like to make a quilt just like this one, head over to the shop to pick up your copy of the Dylan Quilt Pattern and look for Picnic Wovens in shops.

I can’t wait to see what you make!
