Modern Postage Stamp is the Pattern of the Week!

Modern Postage Stamp is the Pattern of the Week!

This week's Pattern of the Week is the Modern Postage Stamp Quilt! This pattern is my take on a traditional postage stamp quilt, but with larger pieces and a more modern layout. You still get that scrappy, lots-of-fabrics look without having to sew together a million tiny squares.

This is quilt is VERY beginner friendly. It's a great project for trying sashing for the first time and it's a great quilt to be a little more daring with your fabric combinations, a bold sashing fabric, or different color layout. And it is SO FUN for making your first rainbow quilt. For the mockups this week, I tried the pattern with a bunch of different styles and color palettes. I always love seeing how much a pattern can change depending on the fabrics, and the Modern Postage Stamp Quilt is especially good for that. It's also a really fun stashbusting project if you want to skip the fabric collection altogether and just start pulling favorites from your shelves. One of my favorite versions that I have made of this quilt just uses a variety of Ruby Star Society fabrics from my stash instead of sticking to a single collection.
