Making a Sampler Quilt
Have you ever made a sampler quilt? I have finished two, started another, and am thinking it’s time to make another one.
This is the Fussy Cut Sampler. I participated in a quilt along a couple of years ago and it is a fantastic pattern. The block instructions are well-written and none of the blocks are too fiddly.
About 5 years ago, I made my very first sampler which was a paper pieced stars sample over at Don’t Call Me Betsy. This was a great intro to sampler quilts because it was so low stress - I did one little block each month.
My unfinished sampler quilt is my Farmer’s Wife. This is a gorgeous pattern, but all of the tiny pieces just drove me crazy. I have enough blocks sitting around to make a baby size quilt and it is on my very long to do list.
Speaking of adding to the to do list, I have been feeling like I need to start a new sampler quilt. I recently asked for some suggestions of sampler-favorites on Instagram and wanted to share the list with all of you. I am still considering what I want to make (if someone figures out how to get more time and energy, please lemme know!) but I will share that with you once I figure it out.
I would love your input - have you done a sampler that you loved?
